Despite striking out the label Gantumoote 2, she clarified that while Gochara is not a sequel, it shares a connection with its predecessor. Roopa explained that the inspiration for Gochara stemmed from her personal existential inquiries and her experiences with solo travel. She noted that societal perceptions, particularly from men, regarding women traveling alone served as a central theme in the film. Through the protagonist's voyage across India, Roopa aims to empower female viewers and challenge traditional mindsets.
